Application Process

All of A Caring Company, Inc.'s PCAs must complete our thorough hiring process and are required to pass Minnesota's mandated PCA training program prior to submitting an application. References are contacted, licenses and certificates are verified, and a DHS background check is performed.

Below is a step-by-step explanation of A Caring Company, Inc.'s application process. On average, the entire process takes 2-4 weeks.

  1. Please give us a call saying that you are interested in becoming a PCA. We'll briefly talk about our company, who you are, and the job at hand.
  2. You print / read through A Caring Company, Inc.'s Application Packet below. If you prefer, we can mail you a packet or you may pick one up from our office.
  3. You must complete all forms marked "Complete" from the list below. All forms are contained within the Application Packet so it is not necessary to download each form individually.
  4. We check your name against OIG and DHS exclusion lists.
  5. We set a time and interview you for the position either person-to-person or over-the-phone. All applicants are asked the same standardized questions. PCA choice clients conduct their own interviews.
  6. After a successful interview, we will ask you to join us!
  7. If you accept, you will be given an Employment Packet and we conduct a background study.
  8. You will complete the required forms from this packet. Further explanation will be given when you get to this point.
  9. Upon completion of all forms and a successful background check, we contact you and set up a time for orientation.
  10. Orientation consists of a meet-and-greet and on-the-job training with the team.
  11. You begin providing services for your client!

Application Packet Letter (Read Only): Packet greeting, information, and directions.
PCA Job Description (Read Only): Describes the purpose of the position as well as job duties, responsibilities, and restrictions. Make sure you are willing and able to perform all job duties and responsibilities and you meet all job qualifications before completing the Application Packet.
Conditions of Employment (Complete): Must meet all qualifications stated. If you will be using a car while working for A Caring Company Inc., insurance information is needed.
Employment Application (Complete): Give personal information, education, and employment history. Agree to A Caring Company Inc.'s terms.
Affirmative Action Form (Optional*): Invited to disclose gender, ethnicity, handicapped, veteran, etc.
Driver's License Information (Complete): Provide a photo copy of your valid driver's license with this form.
DHS' Online PCA Training Complete: Once you pass the test, you will need to send your Certificate of Completion, along with your Application Packet, to us.
Background Consent Form Complete: Provide the necessary information for DHS to perform a background study. Also includes DHS' Background Study Notice of Privacy Practices.
Background Study Information and Locations Read Only: Includes information on (1) primary/secondary identification documents and (2) how and where to get fingerpriting done.
