General FAQs

What geographical areas does your company service?
A Caring Company, Inc currently services the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. We also service other areas based on client need. For example, we currently are providing services in St. Cloud and Willmar. Click here for more information on where our office is located and which Minnesota counties we currently have clients in.

Does your company provide private pay home health care services?
Our company currently does not provide private pay home health care services. We currently only provide home health care services to people who are on medical assistance.

Does your company offer homemaking services?
A Caring Company, Inc. does not currently offer homemaking services as a separate service to PCA services. PCA services often include services for Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), such as laundry or light housekeeping, but the homemaking services are limited. Note that people receiving waiver services through A Caring Company, Inc. may receive homemaking services in addition to their PCA services: A separate homemaking agency may be used under your waiver.

When can I transfer to your agency?
Clients currently receiving PCA services through another agency may transfer to A Caring Company, Inc. at any time, but cannot if the client is on a pre-paid medical plan, such as Medica. Clients can transfer any time; They do not have to wait until a reassessment. A Caring Company, Inc. simply completes a form and sends it to DHS. It can take DHS up to 30 days to process the transfer. PCAs can also transfer to our agency. A PCA that is transferring must complete the same paperwork as a new PCA, and he/she must also go through another background study to be assigned to our agency. We recommend PCAs allow 2-4 weeks for the transfer to be complete. For more information on transfers, click here.

Does A Caring Company, Inc offer the PCA Choice Service Option?
A Caring Company, Inc. provides services under both the Traditional PCA Service Option (PCPO) and the PCA Choice Service Option. Clients should tell their Public Health Nurse which service option they prefer during their assessment. If approved for PCA Choice, you can still decide to receive Traditional Services through our agency. If you are not approved for PCA Choice Services, you must appeal and get an approval before PCA Choice Services can be given through our agency. A Caring Company's Qualified Professional can help clients determine which service option is right for you. Click here for more information on the two service options that A Caring Company, Inc. offers our clients.
